SUBTRACTION WITH REGROUPING
It means to subtract a smaller number from a bigger number WITH BORROWING.

SUBTRACTION WITH REGROUPING
​
It means to subtract WITH BORROWING.

Step 1 : Subtract the Ones (O)
Step 2 : Subtract the Tens (T)
Step 3 : Look at the Hundreds (H).
6 is SMALLER THAN 9 = you cannot subtract. Borrow 1 from Thousands (Th). Add the 1 to Hundreds. Subtract the Hundreds (H).
Step 4 : Subtract the Thousands (Th).
